Yes - Piano Prodigies is still only about 10 videos or so, but the entire General Music Curriculum (400+ Videos) are piano friendly. Yes! Your child can use a piano with Prodigies. We recommend using Chromanotes (TM) stickers for the piano: https://prodigiesmusic.com/product/chromanotes-piano-stick-on These Chromanotes (TM) stickers match our program, and they’re residue free which is nice. Pro tip: don’t leave them on for more than a year without changing them because after a year or two, they will get a little too attached to your keys!

Materials & Setup Prodigies Music Curriculum is a combination of… Videos (delivered through Prodigies.com  Books (available in print through our shop, Amazon.com, or as PDFs w/ a Membership) Instruments (colorful deskbells, Boomwhackers (TM) or keyboard-type instruments w/ color coded  Hand-signs (simple hand motions that pair the individual musical notes, slightly modified from the Curwen hand- Printable posters, worksheets, elements & more This might seem like a lot to manage, but it’s actually quite simple.

Use the Solfege Hand-Signs, the Rhythm Lessons and our Free Prodigies Bells App while you wait for your instruments to arrive!   Many of our music lessons feature a modified version of the Curwen Hand-Signs. These hand-signs help young children connect concrete, bilateral, kinesthetic motions to the abstract idea of sound and pitch. This helps builds a sense of memorized pitch and also provides an instrument-free way to make the practice of singing a more full-body experience and we use them throughout all of the Prodigies Music Lessons.

Note: in 2020 we largely moved away from talking about Series as we re-organized the curriculum into several General Music Progressions to help folks link all the series in the most appropriate way.  Exactly which Prodigies series you use most with your kids depends on their previous musical experience, their age, and what instruments you do or don’t have available.
